July in my House

Since this is the very first year I have decorated for the 4th of July, I decided to blog it so that I have something to look back on as the years go by and I add to the collection.

The glass jar was purchased at GW for $1, each of the buckets were purchased at Target for $1 each, and I had the candles and ribbon already. The little wooden Uncle Sam I got from JoAnn's for $1.
I am looking for red, white, and blue gum balls for the glass jar...anyone know where I can find me a bag of those??

I got the birdhouse on clearance at TJ Maxx for $5, the Liberty sign at JoAnn's for 50% off at $2, and the recycled glass jar at TJ Maxx on clearance for $5.

I made this banner out of 3 foam stars (JoAnn's at $1 each) and twine (already had). I embellished with things I found in my craft supplies. I tied patriotic ribbon in between the stars. I modge podged the words Life, Liberty, and Love on the starts also.

Not a whole lot, but a good start for next year :)

These cute paper lanterns came from JoAnn's. Two came in each package and the packages were $1 each. I tied some twine to them and hung 3 from my dining room chandelier.

The burlap, hand-painted flag pillow I made is sitting on the couch.

I get a sense of pride decorating for this holiday :) I also love it because I can use the decorations for Memorial Day and Veteran's Day also!

I obviously have a long way to go with 4th of July decorations. Im planning on hitting all of my favorite stores right after the holidays for some clearance items, as well as Good Will.

I love these! It reminds me of a country craft store! you do a great job! It's so funny how much of our taste is the same...I too have that exact same mirror you have above your piano! (Mine happens to be above my toilette in my guest bathroom!) LOL!
