Melissa at Melly Sews has a great series this month called 30 Days of Summer Dresses.
I was thrilled when Melissa invited me to be apart of this series! I love a good challenge and a little extra motivation...crafting with a purpose, if you will.
When dreaming of the sundress I was going to create, I decided to think about this summer's trends for my inspiration. So in case you missed it at Melly Sews, here's what I came up with...
My daughter is my biggest inspiration, so I made the sundress for her.
The neon colors in this fabric are not only a fashion trend but they just scream SUMMER, don't you think?
I used a white t-shirt for the top of the dress and added on the fun fabric to maxi-fy it : )
After making the maxi, it was missing something. So I added the bloom ribbon belt.
My sewing skills are beginner-intermediate status. I'm by no means a pro. But I looooooove to sew, so I keep practicing. Thanks to Melissa of Melly Sews, I was able to create my first ever maxi dress.
And lucky for me, this girl loves her new dress and is proud to show it off. She must be used to being photographed...she came up with all these poses on her own. Little ham.
I hope you like the Neon Little Miss Maxi!
Be sure to check out all of the amazing dresses over at Melly Sews!
I hope you all are having a great weekend celebrating your dads, hubbies, grandpas, etc!
We made these fun pinspired cards for my husband and his father...
Aren't they fun?!
Have a great weekend, friends!
